seasons of piano

'seasons of piano' is a multimedia project between Alice Lee x Starling Tan, spanning a four-movement light piano suite, five seasonal illustrations, and four orchestral soundscapes.

The piano suite, released in 2023, was inspired by anime OSTs, 20th century French piano writing, & the colourful daily life of... everyone. It tells the story of different moods that a relationship can experience, from a playful summer to the cold wars of the winter, soon over with the rebirth of the spring. Sheet music & performance notes available here

In early 2024, Starling released a further set of orchestral movements inspired by a set of five illustrations which were commissioned in response to the original piano suite.
